Climate and Terrain
Warmer climate, summers in the 90-100’s. Spring and Fall are the rainy seasons. 2 months of winter, light snow

Coast on the east, south and most of the west boarder. Koranti on the north east boarder. Aamath on the NW border with the NW corner.

Desert on the west-central portion, taking up 1/6th of the land. Tropical along southern border. Dry land throughout most of the country.

Tonan’s Way of Life
The people here are in awe and fear of their ruler, Emperor Vani Cruta. He had his wife and daughter executed for stealing from water and food storage to give to the dying poor at the Capitol’s gates. His heir Loshiro lives with constant lessons and watchers who tell the Emperor his every move. If he does not live up to his uncle’s standards, he has no doubt what his fate will be. There are daily executions of any who dare go against the laws.

His soldiers are extremely well trained though, and are proud of the fact. They fight for honor of their families and for higher placement within the army. To be a Royal Guard is the highest honor a soldier can have.

Seeing as their own land cannot easily grow crops except on the southern border, they require more fertile land. And that land is to the north, in Aamath and Koranti. A loose alliance with Scali will provide the opportunity to claim what should have been theirs in the first place. If Koranti had agreed to a marriage between their Princess and his Heir, they could have slowly encroached and taken over, making it easy to overpower the next target, Aamath. They had denied the proposal though, and now war was the only option.
