Chrysantha made her way down a corridor lined with tall wooden pillars, doors, and small passageways to the left and right. She scanned each door through sleepy, slightly hooded eyes, her lips a straight line across her face. As much as she had appreciated the barrack beds her and her sister got to sleep in for the night, wich was a significant improvement from sleeping on the cold floor, Chrysantha couldn't manage to keep her eyes shut. Her mind was too preoccupied reviewing everything she had learned the day before, over and over, untill it was bound to her memory to perfection.

She made a sharp left turn and stepped into her appropriate classroom, took a seat right in the center of the front row. A yawn escaped her lips as she sat there, alone. Seemed to be she had arrived a bit too early.

Azalea followed her sister into the Classroom a minute after her... Chrys had left while Azalea was in the bathroom and hadn't waited for her. The room looked kind of like the one she'd been in as a child, but they hadn't gone much since their father wanted them to work and decided to have their mother teach them mostly instead of sending them away. Unlike her sister, Azalea was fully awake; she'd slept like a baby as soon as she hit the bed the night before.

She sat next to her sister and looked around. There were books all around, and plenty of light even this early in the morning. As she looked around, she noticed no one else except a sweet looking older woman standing at a desk. She hoped that any other people would get here soon so they could get this over with quickly... she wasn't sure what lessons they were in store for but she hoped it wasn't too much.

Standing behind a desk was a short, older woman with glasses. She looked like someone’s Nanny, not someone who would normally teach you how to be a Paladin or Mercenary. Smiling cheerfully, she greets you “Welcome, welcome, my name is Mrs. Barna. Don’t be scared, I wont bite hard. Here in the Classroom, I will continue your education to make you a better Paladin and Mercenary. I was told you were coming. Now for lessons... a Paladin has lessons in Magic that are mandatory but the Mercenary doesn't have to be here since you have the option of taking the lessons in Magic... which I would take if I were you, never know when you might need a little magic.

So, Mercenary, do you want the lessons in Magic or not? If not, you may wait outside for your partner here, I don't let people listen if they aren't here to learn, or you may go to your next training ground. You next training ground would either be the Druid Temple to learn about your Animal Deity but if you don't have one of those then you are finished with your training and may go onto the Quest Giver in the Royal Court.”

((There will be 2 posts of lessons for these Class types if Azalea decides to stay since it is optional for Mercenaries, and always for Paladins, you will be given 1 point in Magic once you have finished both posts.))

She looked over to her sister, "So, whats it gonna be, Azalea?" She asked this calmly as she folded her hands into her lap, entwining her fingers together.
Chrysantha let out a little sigh through her nose and gave a small nod to her new instructor, as if signaling that she was mentally prepared to focus on the lesson instead of her lack of sleep. She sat up straight and listened to Ms. Barnes attentively. The idea of using magic intrigued her.

Hearing out the woman, it wasn't a hard decision to make. "Of course I'll take the lessons. I plan on using every tool available to me to fight and make money doing it." She was ready to start learning too as she was very curious as to what lessons in Magic would entail.

It was interesting to know that some lessons were optional too, and that some people didn't take them. *Who wouldn't take advantage of such a good opportunity?* But she figured maybe some people were in just too much of a hurry to get out there in the world that they didn't want to wait if they didn't have to.

Seeing the eagerness of Azalea, Mrs. Barna was happy; she didn't always get such enthusiasm from her students.  Chrysantha seemed like she would pay attention at least, and she had been the first one in so maybe she would be a good student as well, time would tell.

"Ok Good, now for some basics on Magic just incase you don't know the types and rules:

A Paladin/Priest/Necromancer/Druid gets some Holy magic from your God, but you also get an Elemental Magic, just 1.  And all other classes except Mages get 1 type.  Only Mages get 2 types.

Caster types can cast their magic away from their bodies, but Melee fighters are restricted to using it as far as their weapons reach is and on their body... except Paladins and Druids who are kind of a combination of Caster and Melee... they can do both.

Types of Magic are as follows:
((Basic of basic, you should have already picked a Magic type this is just for RP sake))

Fire controls fire, Water controls water, Air controls the air and wind, Earth controls the ground and rock, Light controls lightness and sensory aspects, Dark controls darkness and sensory aspects, and Nature controls plantlife.

There are also some more interesting things about Magic... now pay attention since it could get confusing...   Magic, there are a few different ways to use it: Cast, Channeled, and Charged,”
she proceeds to explain the differences between these 3 ways with a much practiced lesson.

“A Cast spell is just that, casting a spell, it may be a one post cast with the effect happening in the same post as your cast, or something that took a post to charge normally, or something like that, but it is the normal casting that is planned.  Cast spells can have special duration effects that last beyond the casting post, but that is dependent on what spell and has no purpose in this lesson

A Channeled spell lasts for multiple posts doing the same effect over each post, but it requires concentration.  Although it will not cost more Mana each post, no other spells can be cast during the process… this doesn’t mean you can’t fight and defend yourself with weapons during the Channeling, but no Abilities or spells.  Channeled spells are made that way, you cannot Channel a Cast spell or a Charged spell.

A Charged casting can be used for all spells that are a 1 post Cast Spell.  By Charging the spell, you delay the effect by one post, but you double the power of it, but it has NO effect on any duration over time effects that it originally had; if it had a 2 point damage over time for 2 posts before it was charged, it has the same effect Charged.  Charging it Only effects the primary effect whether it be damage or healing or whatnot.  It takes one post to charge it and one post to cast it; during the charging post, you can defend yourself with weaponry only, no Abilities or other Spells. ”

*Fairly easy!*
Chrysantha took small metal notes on each type of magic and class Ms. Barnes spoke about; understanding this topic would bring her an advantage in case she would ever have to face a foe with different abilities than her own. Knowledge would become her greatest weapon.
Chrysantha could only imagine spell possibilities when her instructor began explaning each spell type. She would use her gifts to heal her allies and deal great damage to her enemies.

*Wow... So many different rules or things to know already...* Azalea was curious as to why Mages got 2 different types of Magic, but figured she could ask a Mage sometime later. For now she focused on her lesson, absorbing the information as best she could. She'd have to come up with some Nature spells that didn't range farther than her body or weapons, but she was already brain storming in the back of her head. Knowing she could delay a spell but make it twice as powerful was also good to know, she'd have probably not have thought of doing that for a while if someone hadn't told her she could do it now. Channeling might work well with her also since she was planning on being a weapon fighter mostly... and if she can work Channeled magic while still fighting with a weapon all the better... as long as she didn't try to use any special abilities.

So far so good, both of these girls seemed eager to learn and quick at it too. She could almost see the gears turning in their heads as they started to come up with things on their own. Pleased, she continued her lessons

“When it comes to Magic, there are certain tools that can assist. Wands and Staffs are the most common, there are a few exceptions... almost always made of wood..., but let’s focus on those two for now. Of the two things you can do to help with your spells, Storage is key, next is Amplification. Storage is as it sounds. In your spare time, focus either a specific Spell or pure Mana into your tool. They can usually only store so much, and that is dependent on the tool. But it can be useful to have stored Mana that you can tap into when running low, or a Spell to use that doesn't take your own Mana.”

“Amplification is the ability to boost a Spell’s power by casting a spell while using the same spell that has been Stored in the tool at the same time. This is like Charging your spell but it doesn’t take two posts. This will take using the same spell in casting as in the tool, but it double’s its power. It does take double the Mana to Cast though and can only be repeated every third battle post and a maximum of 3 per battle topic, no matter which spell it is… if it is Amplified with a tool, only 3 per battle. And every spell casted as an Amplification has to be stored separately... say if you wanted to Amplify your Dark Bolt with a Dark Bolt in your Wand... now if you want to do it again you had better have had at least one more Dark Bolt stored in there since once you use it, it is gone.”

"Sounds like I could do some serious damage with amplification." Chrysantha said out loud, mostly to herself. She could see herself using such a thing to give her the competitive edge against an opponent.
She entwined her fingers together and placed her hands on her lap, intaking all the information given to her, storing it in the back of her mind for future use, and lisened closely as the woman spoke.

There was more to Magic than she'd thought there would be. It was fascinating learning all this information. She had to agree with her sister, Amplification did sound nice. "Storage sounds cool too, cast a spell onto a staff or wand and keep it until you need it in a pinch... what happens when you run out of Mana and need it then and there, its already ready."

Classroom learning after tiring herself out with Weapons training had seemed like she would be bored and falling asleep, but it was so interesting that she was wide awake and focusing on taking in any information and trying to think of different ways to use it in battle.

“Ok, that's all I have for you.  Off you go, I got more classes to teach here.  Mercenary, you head on to the Druid Temple for more training and Paladin, you head to the Paladin Temple.  Don’t be late… the teachers there may not be as forgiving as tardiness as I am,” she states with a small giggle… she’s notorious in the Training Court for casting magic on any late students… forgiving yea right.

((Just post an Exit and head to your respective temples.  You both now have 1 point in Magic))
